A Block Away. Deluxe

A Block Away. Deluxe is more than a joint project — it’s a conversation between two worlds crafted by REY and RND1, the album captures the spirit of the Southwest: warm nights, chipped curbs, desert winds, and the echo of ambition pushing past every border.

What began as a raw, nine-track statement evolved into A Block Away. Deluxe — a fuller, more cinematic version of that story. Here, the two artists trade verses and melodies like memories, layering introspection with hunger, nostalgia with rebirth. Each song feels lived-in, painted with the kind of honesty that only comes from surviving what you’re speaking about.

Under the creative banners of TWELVOTWO and Moonchildrn, REY and RND1 build something that sits between documentary and dreamscape — a world where storytelling meets texture, vulnerability meets grit, and the block becomes a symbol for both distance and connection.

This deluxe edition isn’t just an add-on; it’s a redefinition. It expands the original’s emotional reach with new layers, offering a deeper listen for those who already felt it — and a fresh doorway for those just discovering the sound.

A Block Away. Deluxe isn’t about how far you’ve come — it’s about what it costs to move even one block closer to who you’re meant to be.

In the spring of 2024 as REY & RND1 were putting the final touches on “A Block Away.” They were invited to a 120 acre estate to participate in a retreat & showcase hosted by Tim Clark from Mid90s. The retreat consisted of studio sessions and collaborations between the likes of Trapper Loc, Crispy Akiama, Producertrenttaylor & OhKayWhy. In the midst of the trip REY & RND1 were able to perform and record some of their favorite songs from their up and coming project. Capturing an amazing moment in the hills of San Diego.

The “A Block Away. Celebration” was an event that took place in the summer of 2024, at the Royal Room in downtown Chukson, Arizona. With performances from REY & RND1, 132, DJQ, Ghetti, KPMADMAN, Producertrenttaylor & sadgalnina. The showcase was an interactive experience where visitors could find unreleased music from the artists involved on QR codes scattered around the venue.
